Overview: The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness

The 8th Habit is a highly motivating and self-help book written by Stephen Covey. This book is the sequel to Covey's immensely popular book 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People'. This book talked about the seven habits of highly effective people that made them different from others. The book, 'The 8th Habit', is the next step where the author talks about the 8th habit through which one can find their own voice and then inspire others to find their voices. This book received great appreciation and is regarded highly in the genre of self-help and motivating books. The powerful writing style of Covey is yet again reflected through this book.

This book is divided into two sections. The first focuses on "finding your voice" and the second on "inspiring others to find theirs". The book provides answers to the yearning for greatness, the individual's imperative for significance and superior results, and the human's search for its "voice". It comes with some handy tips and at the same time is an intuitive read than a mere passive description. The book is divided into two sections, with the first few chapters focusing on finding your voice, while the later chapters are about inspiring others to find their voice. Plus there is a discussion on the five cancerous behaviors which prove to be the obstacles in achieving greatness. These five behaviors are complaining, criticizing, comparing, competing and contending.

Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University at the time of his death. He became very famous for his book, 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People'.
