Product Description

The AMD FX 6300 Core Piledriver Processor is empowered by the Bulldozer CPU technology. Piledrive is the codename for the technology. This processor incorporates multi-threading performance and overclocking essentials.

High performance

This processor delivers performance on par with a quad-core king. It is an inexpensive chip with raw processing power so that you can invest less in a processor, and invest more on a GPU set if you are into HD gaming or graphics manipulations. There are various functionality additions such as branch prediction and processor scheduling that improves performance manifold.

Powerful overclocking

It is ok to think that with a lower TDP, the overclocking capacity of the processor could be low. But this processor can be pushed to even 5 GHz as this is a cool running chip. At stock speeds it performs incredibly well. Even under overload, the processor does well to keep the temperature under 28 degrees Celsius.

Multi-threading performance at its best

The multi-threading performance easily surpasses the performance of a stock Core i5. The processor manages this performance even when running single-thread. You can render a graphics intensive game such as Batman: AC without any latency. For this kind of performance on other processors, you will need a massive cooler. It indicates how competitively Piledrive has been designed. Order online this processor today as an inexpensive alternative.

  1.  A worthy CPU bundled with an equally unworthy heatsink 4 October, 2013 On
I am totally loving this processor it can easily handle demanding games when paired with a good GPU. The price to performace ratio is excellent. This is one of the reason why I love AMD over Intel. If you are not planning to overclock this CPU then it's a great buy. But if you are planning to overclock it, the stock heatsink is useless. It's noisy and is just not upto the mark. On stock frequency 3.5ghx I am getting an idle temprature of 43-45 c and on load(prime 95) it reaches 62-65 c. Which on the long run will damage the CPU.
AMD suggest that the maximum operating of the CPU is 62.5 c which is a bummer beause Intel has higher maximum operating temperatures (72-75 c) range. Now to regulate the temperature I have bought Cooler Master Hyper 212X and 2 X Deepcooler 120 mm LED Cabinet Fans. Which adds another 3,000 to the budget :-(
I wished AMD had bundled better stock cpu cooler or made the cpu cooler optional and reduced the price further. But the CPU itself is solid!
