Described as the 'economical new', this 10.1 inch ASUS MeMO Pad is an Android tablets that is powered by an Intel Atom processor (1.6GHz). The Atom processor is definitely rare for an Android tablet but its advantage is the increased performance capacity and speed. The LED backlit touch screen has a resolution of 1920x1200, which puts it a little higher than most tablets. Its RAM space is 2GB while it boasts of a 16GB internal memory which can be expanded upto 32GB with microSD. The tablet has a mini HDMI slot along with the usual micro USB and 3.5mm earphone jack. Like most tablets these days, this one come with Wi-Fi 802.11bgn wireless connectivity and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, along with GPS and an e-compass.
Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 is the version the tablet comes pre-installed with. The primary 5MP back camera comes with HD recording while the front 1.2MP camera can be used to record, though its main purpose is for video calls. The tablet comes with a non-removable battery that gives a decent amount of power - 12 hours when idle, 7 hours when used with Wi-Fi, 5 hours when excessively used i.e. full brightness, multiple apps running etc. The tablet weighs a bit more than 500 grams which is not unusual. It's slightly wide body doesn't make it a comfortable fit in one's hand but its otherwise sleek design and back case gives the person holding it a good firm grip. The product dimensions are 26.4 cm x 18.3 cm x 1 cm.
This model is currently available in blue and expert reviews rated it good for its combination of good features. The tablet even put a decent performance for gaming, which might interest a few buyers. Even though the body is plastic, it does consumers looking for an everyday tablet with no frills good value for their money.
