Get prepared to be a star 17 May, 2013 On Junglee.com
First thing to be an actor you need to learn and understand what really acting is meant for. I am an actor myself, I also used to think that acting is somewhat easy and you can easily portray the character and play it. But when I continuously failed in many auditions and was rejected by the directors and producers though after giving good performance, then I realized that something is missing, where am I going wrong, "should this be done like this or the character should be played like that, many confusing thoughts that left me blank. After that I realized that I must get prepared, I am not basically a book worm, or what people say studious. But somewhere I was very much interested to know about the book - An actor prepares by Constantin stanislavski......though the book looks small but has some life changing topics.
The first great thing this book contains is that it goes like a story not like usual lessons. But like a life story, from the first topic itself it draws your attention. The author has taken this book in a very dramatic way that when you read it it feels like you are inside the studio, or inside a theatre workshop. Just feeling it, realizing it, it makes you think that next this is going to happen, somewhere it mentally prepares you to be someone whom you really wanted to be.
Secondly it contains some great inspiring thoughts in each topics that touches you and makes you work hard. You can write those thoughts and when ever you are going to prepare for some role you can read it to get super motivated.
And moreover the topics are properly described step by step, what is emotions, the expressions, stage stuffs like that. These topics in the book are described in such a way that it will automatically prepare you for a role that you are going to play. As mentioned before, it goes like a story, a journey to be lived, to be realized, to be motivated, to be inspired and lastly to be prepared.
After reading the book I realized that where I went wrong, the topics just took me away in a positive way that it made be much confident to play any character or role. And the inspiring thoughts in each topics that I have written it down motivates me every-time I read it.
Lastly with my personal experience I just have one thing to say - If you really want to learn about acting buy this one...cheers.
