Product Description

Adventures of Tintin - Vol. 1 is a two-in-one book set, which contains two stories namely, Tintin in the Land of the Soviets and Tintin in the Congo. Written by Hergé, these comics feature Tintin, a young Belgian reporter, who is accompanied on his crazy journeys by his faithful fox-terrier, Snowy. Rich in action and humour, these stories can be thoroughly enjoyed by people across all age groups because of their fast-paced narrative and dynamic storytelling style.

In Tintin in the Land of the Soviets, our young hero is sent on a new assignment to the Soviet Union, where he is blamed for terrorist activities. Soon Tintin realises that there are some people who do not want him there and must find out why. This book was the first album to be released, which starred Tintin, and later became famous all over the globe.

On the other hand, in Tintin in the Congo, the brave reporter is greeted by native Congolese but trouble finds him anyway, and he must save his life from unknown attackers as well as animals. This comic album was second in the The Adventures of Tintin series.

Georges Prosper Remi adopted the pen name of Hergé and went on to create one of the greatest comic book heroes of the 20th century. The Adventures of Tintin was first introduced in 1929 and became an instant favourite world over. Since then, the series has seen 23 different stories and has been translated into 80 different languages. Two other series also famously written by Hergé are Quick & Flupke and The Adventures of Jo, Zette and Jocko. He became a Comic Book Hall of Fame inductee in 2003 and is a strong influence for comics even today.
