Overview: Aghora: At the Left Hand of God

Aghora: At the Left Hand of God is the first of the Aghora Trilogy. Written by Robert E. Svoboda, the book narrates the Vimalananda's life events and his spiritual practices.

Aghora deals with the discipline of Tantra and the person practicing it is known as Aghori. Aghora to Vimalananda, was a deeply rooted internal process that does away with all accepted restrictions to the human capabilities of perception. It gives the readers a rare glimpse into the life of the practicing Tantra taking them into the depths of consciousness in a well explained manner. It tells the tales of Vimalananda and his many yogi friends. The book preaches that reality can be obtained not by giving up the world but instead embracing it with open arms.

Vimalananda devoted his entire life in the pursuit of attaining a personal experience of God and advises the readers to undertake a similar quest. He goes onto caution the readers telling them not to believe everything that he says to be the truth as he is human too and is bound to make mistakes. He insisted that the readers should test on themselves all that has been mentioned in Aghora: At the Left Hand of God, experience it and then decide for themselves whether it is the truth or not.

Robert E. Svoboda is an author and Ayurvedic doctor and the only American licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. 1.  Enchanting with some ego brushes 25 April, 2014 On
First book of the series and finest as well ,well all three are good.well the beauty of this book that it is filled with esoteric aspects of what vimalananda does, as he is aghori here his journey at path was amazing, sometimes horrible, and full of metaphysical powers. this make this book damn interesting,
well the protagonist has good spiritual knowledge and his approach is brave but amny a times does,nt seem brave enppugh as he cirticises others quickly and quite essentially judgemental about everything ,he is quite egotistic as he himself said ,this i beomes a rigid stem on flowing waters , which is not apt to spiritual people of such knowledge sense of respect is also minimum, he many a times used his powers for revenge, and other materialistic gains but restricts his disciple ;children: doing so ,and is quite adamant about his self perceived philosophy of universe
and law of karma etc which is kind of true make sense ,sometimes raises big question marks and reasonability issues ,it seems he sublimated his theories acoordingly to justify whatever he does and at the same time tell others not to do it
well from ineterst point of view its good ,its quite more like a biography but has good philosophical value indeed ,athough a good book overall and must for all spiritual seekers to enhance there horizon and knowledge but choose intelligently what knowledge you got think over and decide overall interseting book even its not fiction but is stranger and full of action horror thrill but that was not deliberate but true as what happened to him well that seem to be true but his conception are quit personal to him other than that go ahead its worth reading for all genres of book readers
