. I am not impressed by their SonicMaster technology 15 May, 2015 On Junglee.com
The metallic build of zenfone with its exorbitant display gives a great look. It has 2X2 intel atom processor and powerVR gpu with SGX 544 MP2. Asus has truly leveraged its presence in technology domain to add to the hardware of the phone. The truVivid technology by the company provides great visual quality. The pixel density is obviously lesser than high-end phone but is good enough for a phone below 10k. The phone has a quick response to touch. The screen is very sensitive with 60ms response time and works great with gloves put on as well. Again, asus has used its pixelmaster technology for having high-quality images and has done a decent job here. The various inbuilt filters lets you edit photos and enhance them more beautifully. I am not impressed by their SonicMaster technology however. The speakers are not that good in lound Indian traffic. Asus should have outsourced some of the best hardwares to make a better phone. The phone is dual sim and that is why I gifted it to my mom. As per her activity and usage, this seemed to me like the best phone and she loves it. It supports wifi and internet speed upto as high as 42 Mbps DC-HSPA+. The skinning by Asus over stock android which is called ZenUi is simply the best. They have customised various apps. There are many interesting animations in clock, phone dialer, messages, calling screen, home pages, wallpapers, music player, gallery etc. You get the 5gb asus web storage also where you can store your important files on web id and retrieve in case it gets deleted from the phone. The phone suppors GPRS, Edge, 3g with HSPA+ and have glonass and gps as navigation technology. I would say it is the best phone as of now, considering its size, shape, design and features, to be gifted to your parents. They will love it. It comes with standard 1 year manufacturer (asus) warranty and in-box accessories (charger, earphones) has 6 months warranty. But I am not sure if Asus has any dedicated service centres. I did not buy micromax because they have pathetic customer service. Hope that will not be my experience with Asus.

     Trendy phone under 10k 28 April, 2015 On Junglee.com
This is yet another handset in Zenfone range by Asus. The design of zenfone 5 is bit traditional and resembles its predecessor zenfone 4 and successor zenfone 5. It has all the basic features - the front camera is 2mp, there is notification led,
a proximity sensor, light sensor for auto brightness.

Zenfone like Lumia is availbale in all exciting colors like red, champagne gold, purple, white and black. If you want more memory, there is external-sd slot for expandable memory. It competes many high-priced mobile phone in terms of technical specification. The RAM is 2GB so you will never run out of memory even at heavy usage. Apart from that, 3g is also supported. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a trendy phone under 10k.

Good Dua Sim phone 29 April, 2015 On Junglee.com
I was looking for a dual sim phone so came across Zenfone 5. It is really good, be it the hardware or the design. The phone looks cool and comes in various colors. I bought pear white. The back case is made of good material and is not a magnet to finger prints. The matte cover on screen make it look even prettier. The touch is not up to the mark with high-end phone and you may experience lag of few milliseconds. The speakers are good too but I did not get any accessories with phone except the handset and charger.

Good Phone at this price 3 May, 2015 On Junglee.com
I was looking to buy a dual sim phone when I stumbled upon this phone. The android jelly bean operating system, while may not be the most recent one, does the job for you. The battery life is one of the highlights of the device. The 2110mAH battery providing talk-time of 18.5 hours and standby time of 353 hours makes sure that you do not run out of battery while travelling long distances. The 8MP primary camera with auto focus, LED flash and 2MP front camera makes it stand out among the product offered within this price range. The 5-inch HD IPS multi-touch capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution is an added offering. Though some people might find the 5-inch display slightly larger in size but for me it was the perfect size. The 1.6GHz processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory allows you to download the apps that you wanted to and makes sure that the phone is not slow. The memore is expandable up to 64GB in case you would wan to store some music on the phone. The trendy pearl white look makes it look quite cool and expensive. Overall, at this price point, it is one of the best phone to look out for.

Review after 1 month of usage: 11 May, 2015 On Junglee.com
    1. In box accessories: the accessories are really of great quality but you would not get any earphones. There is a usb cable present with the charger.

    2. Design: The phone is bit bulky due to its size but the overall finishing and flat shape gives a premium look to it. While I was browsing the phone in offline stores, I liked the grip of moto G2 better.

    3. Display: Really good viewing angles of the device. Asus zenfone has its own inbuilt app 'splendid' which is really splendid in controlling the contrast and saturation of the display.

    5. RAM and graphics: The 2 gb ram with dual-core processor gives smooth experience where you can multitask easily. I has found few lags in moto G2 though during trials. The graphics PowerVR SCX 544 MP2 is very very good for playing games and videos.

    5. Sound: The speakers are not very loud but decent. Call quality is great as compared to other phones in similar price range. It filters all noise and is very clear.

    6. Battery: The battery 2110 mAh last for one day on moderate usage and 8-9 hours of heavy usage. It would take about 3 hours to completely charge the battery and it does not have thundering bolt chargers like iphones, one plus one etc which charges phone in less than an hour.

    7. I have installed apps: Whatsapp, viber, splitwise, Instagram, google+, maps, quizup, facebook, messenger. All runs well, without any hang or lag. :)

Finally, I would say that the device is value for money. But now you will have still more options like redmi note etc. that you can explore.

     Good price 5 May, 2015 On Junglee.com
I bought asus zenfone 5 for a price of 9499 from Amazon recently. The phone i.e. handset has manufacturer warranty of one year while the accessories that comes along with it has warranty of 6 months. The performance of phone is pretty great as it houses Intel Aton Z2560 processor. The phone has internal storage of 8GB but it is expandable to 64 gb with external microSD. Asus has skinned their own UI over android which is called ZENUI. I personally like the icons, colors of this UI. But it misses out some basic functionalities like next, previous buttons in media player. Also, skinning by asus means that you might have to wait for couple of months before getting android updates by google. The normal headphones of 3.5mm works for the phone which you would have to buy seperately if you do not have one. The speakers are good but not very loud.
Other quick pros and cons are:
    Pros:
The phone comes with Mira cast which lets you take the remote control of your computer through wifi. You can browse internet easily using this feature.
The skinning by Asus over stock android is great and refreshing. The UI is very cool with few animations.
The look and feel of zenfone is somewhat premium due to its awesome build quality and back cover material.
Trusted brand of asus over other local brands. So I expect better customer service.
    Cons:
I feel that the camera lens is quite scratch prone because of the way it is placed.
The phone heats up if used continuously for over 15 minutes.
Mine runs anrdoid 4.3 but i am eagerly waiting for android 5.0.
The camera is okay. Since asus was advertising its pixelmaster technology, I had hoped for a better clarity. The phone actually gives good shots but when you use it indoors, the pics are little hazy.
Like many high end phones, the battery is non-removable.
    Overall, I would give
    Battery life 8/10
    Software 6/10
    Camera 7/10
    Value for money 8/10
    Design 8/10.
You can look at other variants such as Asus zenfone A502CG also and make a purchase decision according to your need.

     Awesome! 3 May, 2015 On Junglee.com
Asus zenfone 5 A500CG was released in April, 2014. The phone is pretty light and weighs about 145g only. It has a slot for micro-sim and is present with dual sim stand-by. The screen is 16M colors with 294 ppi which is good enough but not at par with high end phones. The screen is protected with corning gorilla glass 3 which means that minor accidents wont cause breakage of glass. The phone comes with Jelly bean and is upgradable to KitKat version. It would not get lollipop update which is the latest one by Android google. You will, however, get lollipop update in asus zenfone 5 A500KL. The phone touch response and software perfornmace is pretty good as it has Intel Atom Z2580 chipset and dual core CPU running at 2 GHz. There is a choice of internal memory of either 8gb or 16gb or 32 gb and on top of it, it is expandable to 64 GB with extra microSD slot. The camera is also pretty good with all the basic features such as autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging etc. The font facing camera is just 2 MP but still clicks good photos. One good thing I like about the asus phone is that it has FM radio. It does not have which should not be an issue. Other additional items like document viewer, photo editor, MP3/eAAC+/WAV/H.264/MP4 player is there. The battery is 2110 mAh battery Li-Po and like it is the trend with most of the phones, it is non-removable. Asus claims that the stand-by time is 353h on 3G and on talk-time is around 18hrs. But as per my usage of phone, the battery lasts for around 11 hours. The phone comes in Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, Champagne gold and twilight purple colors.

     Asus Zenfone 5 (Champagne Gold, 16GB) 28 April, 2015 On Junglee.com
The screen is too big. It does not fit in one hand. The phone is square shaped and is of appropriate thickness but overall it is bulky. The battery is pretty good because it usually lasts for 11-12 hours for me on normal usage. The touch buttons do not have any backlight and is little inconvenient. The technical specifications are good although performance is not at par with it.

     Disappointing phone! 30 April, 2015 On Junglee.com
    Asus Zen phone 5
    1) The battery life is small. For a phone with screen size of 5 inch, a 2110mah battery is really not that powerful.
    2) The phone gets heated up within regular 30 minutes usage.
    3) There are no back lights for the touch keys at the bottom. This makes it very inconvenient.
    4) I am disappointed by the loudspeakers also. The loudspeaker voice is very low as compared to other phones in similar price range such as MOTO-G.
    5) The pixel density is also low i.e. 272ppi which does not give very sharp graphics. Usually, a pixel density of 336ppi is appropriate for smartphones of similar size.

Not that great 28 April, 2015 On Junglee.com
I like the colors that zenfone 5 comes in. I bought champagne gold myself and have been using it for about a month. So here is my feedback based upon my usage:

I am a gamer and have installed subway surfers, plants vs zombies, nitro etc. These run without any lag and the graphics are also good. The big display further enhances the gaming experience. But the battery discharges quickly and even when charging, it gets heated up. The built is overall ok, gives a good grip. The speakers are good when you use headphones but when a call is received on loudspeaker, there is lot of noise disruptions.
