. I am not impressed by their SonicMaster technology

The metallic build of zenfone with its exorbitant display gives a great look. It has 2X2 intel atom processor and powerVR gpu with SGX 544 MP2. Asus has truly leveraged its presence in technology domain to add to the hardware of the phone. The truVivid technology by the company provides great visual quality. The pixel density is obviously lesser than high-end phone but is good enough for a phone below 10k. The phone has a quick response to touch. The screen is very sensitive with 60ms response time and works great with gloves put on as well. Again, asus has used its pixelmaster technology for having high-quality images and has done a decent job here. The various inbuilt filters lets you edit photos and enhance them more beautifully. I am not impressed by their SonicMaster technology however. The speakers are not that good in lound Indian traffic. Asus should have outsourced some of the best hardwares to make a better phone. The phone is dual sim and that is why I gifted it to my mom. As per her activity and usage, this seemed to me like the best phone and she loves it. It supports wifi and internet speed upto as high as 42 Mbps DC-HSPA+. The skinning by Asus over stock android which is called ZenUi is simply the best. They have customised various apps. There are many interesting animations in clock, phone dialer, messages, calling screen, home pages, wallpapers, music player, gallery etc. You get the 5gb asus web storage also where you can store your important files on web id and retrieve in case it gets deleted from the phone. The phone suppors GPRS, Edge, 3g with HSPA+ and have glonass and gps as navigation technology. I would say it is the best phone as of now, considering its size, shape, design and features, to be gifted to your parents. They will love it. It comes with standard 1 year manufacturer (asus) warranty and in-box accessories (charger, earphones) has 6 months warranty. But I am not sure if Asus has any dedicated service centres. I did not buy micromax because they have pathetic customer service. Hope that will not be my experience with Asus.
