Overview: The BFG

Written by the master story-teller Roald Dahl, The BFG is the story of a huge friendly giant and his little friend, Sophie, a little girl. The story begins with a scary start where the giant wakes up Sophie and takes her to the land of child-eating giants.

When they reach this land, the BFG learns that there are other giants who are much bigger and stronger than him, and Sophie helps him deal with the same. The BFG is a kind giant and does not mean harm to anyone. He is the only one who can stop the other giants like Bloodbottler, Fleshlumpeater and the others who mean harm to little children.

Sophie and the Soon after Sophie and the BFG become good friends and she help the comical, whimsical giant in getting rid of the other hostile giants. They go to meet Queen Elizabeth for her help and support. Sophie goes on to live with her new found friend in the palace.

Written in his usual inimitable style, children will find this book engaging, fun and will not be able to wait for the end. The courage displayed by this Big Friendly Giant and the friendship between Sophie and he will make for some pleasant imaginary moments for the little readers.
