Charlottes Web is a childrens story penned by E.B. White. White is a renowned childrens author who has been awarded several times for his contribution to childrens literature. He is also the author of Stuart Little, a book that was adapted to a hit movie series by the same name.
Charlottes Web is also considered by many as a classic when it comes to childrens literature. The story revolves around Wilbur, a fat pig, and his friendship with Charlotte the spider. Wilbur is loved and cared by Fern Arable, a little girl who adores him. However, when Wilbur grows big and plump, he is sent to Ferns uncles farm, where he is to be slaughtered. At the farm, Wilbur is ignored by all and thus, he yearns company.
Charlotte, a little spider, on seeing Wilburs misery, offers him a hand of friendship. He also tells Wilbur of his impending death and promises to do his best to save him. Thus, Charlotte spins the words Some Pig in his web, which is noticed by the farm owner and his wife. They are astounded and let the pig live another day. Encouraged by the response, Charlotte starts spinning words daily, aided by his friend Templeton the rat. Soon, the tale of incredulity of the pig spreads to the rest of the city. Thus, Wilbur is invited to a city fair, where he is accompanied by Charlotte and Templeton.
At the fair, Charlotte informs Wilbur that he wont be accompanying them back to the farm. Instead, he gives birth to three little spiders and dies, thus leaving them for the company of Wilbur.
