The book that started it all!
25 February, 2014
The Color (or Colour, rather) of Magic is the first book in the Discworld series and a must-read for every Pratchett fan. It has all the things that make his books so great (satire, bizarre magical creatures, mundane details of life in a magical world, etc) as well as other elements that he had experimented with.
The plot is disarmingly simple: a rich and naive traveler from a faraway empire arrives in Ankh-Morpork. He's the first tourist in Discworld's history, and his guide (a failed wizard named Rincewind) is tasked with protecting him - or else. Wacky adventures ensue as they travel the world and get in a wide variety of trouble.
