Well Conjured!! 19 January, 2014 On
The Conjuring directed by James Wan starring Vera Farmiga,Patrick Wilson,Lili Taylor is a Horror/Thriller flick.

A family moves into a dilapidated house which they had bought recently and they start to experience certain abnormalities in that place,as days pass by the notice that the house is haunted and plead the help of the warren's.

The movie is well paced with spine chilling moments and there are moments where you
    may jump off your seat.

Spine Chilling! 31 October, 2013 On
Movies have an instant added bonus with movie goers when filmmakers put ‘based on a true story’ in front of them. Now I don't know exactly how much here is truth and how much is fiction but what I know is that this is a phenomenal motion picture that's true to the scare tactics and old school horror.
The build-up to the Anabelle doll urban legend is beautifully done. In one of the other scenes Lili Taylor is blindfolded while her kids scurry off to the far corners of the house. Lili calls out for the girls to clap and hears clapping in the closet but there is no one there when she opens her eyes.

The end does not hold up to the promise made by rest of the film but all in all it's a helluva experience which sure could keep you chilled whole night.

  3.  Real Scary 9 December, 2013 On
Written by Chad Hayes/Carey W Hayes, Produced by Tony DeRosa-Grund/Peter Safran/Rob Cowan and Directed by James Wan.

A horror thriller well cinematographed and presented based on a true story.
The Perron family (Roger Perron and Carolyn Perron with their five daughters) moves into a newly acquired farm house in the countryside which is actually infested with a demon of the landlady (Bathsheba) who was once the owner of the farm house and who also used to practice witch-craft. She commits suicide after trying to offer her own child as a sacrifice in her practice. Her 200 acre cursed farm house is acquired by different people over a period of time but the witch still hangs around in the cellar of the large house driving away whoever occupies the same. The witch possesses Carolyn and tries to kill her children..
This is when Warren and his wife Lorraine (experts in demonology and un-official exorcists) are approached by Perron to exorcise the witch from the house. After employing different techniques Warren and Lorraine finally exorcise the demon from the possessed Carolyn as well as the house successfully, in the nick of the moment when she the later was just about to kill Christine and solve another complicated case.

Director of Photography and Sound Effects should be congratulated for their exemplary special effects and real horror experience. Even the bravest of hearts would pound at least once while watching this film. The director has given the film an ethnic look by fitting everything so well that one gets a feeling that he/she is transported to the times in 1970s to enjoy the horror thrill. Best audio visual effects guaranteed if viewed on a big screen/Blue Ray with 5.1 surround sound system.

Since the story line is not new, the movie is something like Old Wine in a New Bottle, but still enjoyable with entire family..Reminds one of the old time super hit ‘The Exorcist’.

    My rating is 4/5

the film is based on a real story in USA, since this is a very different horror film it will be a "paisa-vasool" , the topic is unique and the film leaves the audience thrilled and in doubt whether such things could be a reality ever.. a must go and a classic thriller.
