Another year in school, Greg starts writing his journal describing how horrid his summer vacation was. Greg was treated as an outsider as he had the cheese touch. He tries to patch up with everyone and wants to lead a cool life as other kids. But, things never get well for Greg as his brother Rodrick know the two of his dirty secrets. One is about Greg's Dairy and other about the existence of his diary after his death. Rodrick takes advantage of the secrets and treats him like he wants.
The book is filled with fun filled surprises and will never get you bored. You can see that there was no love between the brothers. Greg also explains that how his mom tried to patch these two brothers. With a humorous storyline, the author tries to keep his audience amused and engaged along the frames.
