Although born in the Abnegation faction, the book conveys that Beatrice believes she does not belong there. The book throws light on the appointment day, when Beatrice, with other sixteen-year-olds, took a test to be selected in one of five factions namely Candor, Abnegation, Dauntless, Amity and Erudite, divided on the basis of a virtue. The book tells that Beatrice has a choice of staying with her family or moving to another faction for the rest of her life. It reveals that Beatrice takes a surprising decision which changes not just her name but her life too. Beatrice begins a new life in a new faction with a new name, Tris. However, the book reveals that Tris has a secret which she needs to keep hidden, or it could mean death for her. Will Beatrice unwrap her mystic self in front of the world or will she keep it veiled?
