Down and Out Down Under is a part of the children's book series named Geronimo Stilton. The book was published in March 2007 by Scholastic Paperbacks. It is written by Elisabetta Dami, who writes under the pseudonym, Geronimo Stilton. Geronimo Stilton has been a best seller and Down and Out Down Under has been equally appreciated as the other books in the series.
Geronimo Stilton, a mouse, who plays the protagonist in this children book series, sets out for yet another adventure in the book. With the onset of the story Geronimo's crush, Petunia Pretty Paws and Wolfie, her brother, convince him to accompany them to Australia. The three of them, thus, head towards the land down under for an adventurous spree.
On reaching Australia, Geronimo goes surfing with Wolfie. He enjoys the experience and is ready for the next aquatic adventure, which is swimming with the beautiful and lively dolphins. The three of them also drive through the exotic desert of Australia where they see different species of birds and plants.
In the course of the story, Geronimo faces several challenges. He is attacked by a Kangaroo, an Echidna and a huge bird, Emu. Geronimo is soon abandoned by his mates; he is left all alone in the Australian outback where he fights for his survival. As the story moves further, it becomes even more intriguing.
