Edge Of Tomorrow is a sci-fi film directed by Doug Liman starring Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, and Bill Paxton. This Doug Liman movie tells the story of a military officer stuck in a time loop as he struggles to fight against a powerful alien invasion.
This film begins with Major William Cage meeting General Brigham in London. It is revealed that Mimics, an alien race, have invaded continental Europe. General Brigham informs Major Cage about Operation Downfall to target the Mimics. Cage is asked to go to France and join the battle. When he refuses, he is arrested and knocked unconscious. The next day he finds himself at a Heathrow military base where he meets Master Sergeant Farell and his J Squad. He assigns Cage to the squad and they head for battle. When an Alpha Mimic strikes Cage, he kills it with a Claymore mine. In the explosion, Cage finds himself covered in the Mimic’s blood. He awakes the next day to find himself back at Heathrow and the previous day being repeated.
As the events keep repeating, he dies and wakes up at the same place and time and repeats the day again. In one time loop, he manages to rescue Sergeant Rita Vrataski, a soldier who killed hundreds of Mimics in a battle. Sergeant Vrataski informs Cage that just like him she too was once stuck in a time loop. However, she lost this ability after she had a blood transfusion. Since Cage was covered in the Alpha’s blood, he also received the ability to see into the Mimics’ minds. Cage follows a trail seen in his vision and reaches a dam in the Bavarian Alps in order to destroy the Omega, the aliens’ hive mind. Cage also learns of a transponder created by General Brigham, a device that can pinpoint the exact location of the Omega. Watch the movie to find out if he will be able to destroy the aliens and get out of the time loop.
Edge Of Tomorrow has a run time of 113 minutes. This A-rated film was released in DVD format in 2014 by Warner Bros Studios.
