Raj (Amitabh Bachan) is an artist living with his unmarried sister (Nita) and their widowed mother (Mala). Nita is brutally raped and murdered; the killer unfortunately escapes the law. Raj takes law into his own hands by plotting revenge and killing the murderer due to which he finds himself on the run from the law. On the run he is reunited with his ex-lover Asha (Sharmila Tagore). Old flames reignite and they both realize that they are still in love with each other but they respect social values. Raj kidnaps a child as a hostage and seeks refuge in a house only to later learn that the child is the son of his former lover Asha, who by the way is now married to a Police Inspector (Sanjeev Kumar). Raj is torn in the two conflicts - whether to let the child go, or to use him and try to make an escape.

How Raj, Asha, Mala and Sanjay (Sanjeev Kumar) resolve the complex problem of unfulfilled love while the Police is ch g Raj is the story, artistically narrated by the director through a series of flashbacks. Will Raj take the kid hostage and escape the law? Will Asha choose lover over husband? How will Sanjay save his family and fulfil his duties as a police officer. Excellent acting, Great direction and an engaging storyline keep the viewer engaged to the very end.

  1.  An Interesting Story About A Fight Within 1 January, 2014 On
    Amitabh Bachachan, Sharmila Tagore and Sanjeev Kumar are in lead roles in Faraar directed by Shankar Mukherjee. It was released in 1975. In this movie Amitabh Bachchan is on the run most of the time. He had to murder the rapists of his sister and to save himself from getting arrested he abducts a child.

    The child turns out to be the son of his ex-lover who has got married to a police inspector....
