Zooni Ali Beg (played by Kajol) blind Kashmiri girl chances upon tour guide Rehan Qadri (played by Aamir Khan), and flirt, who travels across India, exploring ancient architecture and meeting new women. While his reputation for being an incorrigible flirt is well known, even to Zooni, she refuses their warning to not meet him. Rehan, who understands Zooni is blind seeks to show her the various hues of life, and through him, she experiences Delhi. However, Rehan has a deeper side to him that Zooni must realize on her own.
