When The Fountainhead was first published, Ayn Rands daringly original literary vision and her groundbreaking philosophy, Objectivism, won immediate worldwide interest and acclaim. This instant classic is the story of an intransigent young architect, his violent battle against conventional standards, and his explosive love affair with a beautiful woman who struggles to defeat him. This edition contains a special Afterword by Rands literary executor, Leonard Peikoff which includes excerpts from Ayn Rands own notes on the making of The Fountainhead. As fresh today as it was then, here is a novel about a hero-and about those who try to destroy him.

Myself - that's what happiness is about 8 April, 2013 On
This is a must read for people who has been searching for happiness and have tried everything from visiting temples to materialistic splurges. This book outlines how individualism is the cornerstone of a successful society and why a society can not be above the need of an individual. You sometimes feel miserable realizing the hard truth that the ideal way to lead your life is like that of the main protagonist Roark but know it for sure that you will not be able to. So then the path to choose is important rather than trying to reach the destiny. And the path is to place yourself above all else and not think of sacrifice as a deed of nobility. Instead selfishness is what drives your life towards perfection. However like most literary work this borders on the extreme and you need to discount some of the philosophies outlined.

     Wonderful 17 July, 2012 On
The Fountainhead is a tale of both defeat and triumph. It is depressing and exalting, inviting and repugnant. And its philosophy, like all great lies, is more than three-quarters true.

  3.  My first novel , the most challenging and the most shaping 5 September, 2014 On
I still remember that how eager I felt to finish this novel. This is not just a novel , this is hard core philosophy, the philosophy of existentialism, the philosophy of being. The readers with lesser will power are prohibited to read this content as this has got the potential to brainwash them.
I find this book more than a story , I kind of related this to my own life, I realized that at so many places I could be so idealistic , and idealist beyond comprehension. I saw a dichotomy in myself , I became Peter and Howard at the same time. I realized that I was selfish and also not one at the same. time , i found a whole lot of contradiction with in me and then I dig in and when I did that the daze started to shatter and things became clear.
This book is more about action , more about philosophy, more about consequences and more about choices. This can cast magical spell on the reader as it did on me as well.
A great life changing read ,even the last living brain cell can't miss this kind of content.
