  1.  Amazing end to a trilogy-only there are 3 more books to come!! 10 March, 2012 On
City of Bones and City of Ashes precede this volume in Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments. The series is about a young girl who learns she is a "Shadowhunter" ie part human part angel who's job is to rid the world of all evil- the "Downworlders". City of Glass can very well be an apt ending to the Mortal Instruments Trilogy, however Clare decided to write 3 more books due to the popularity of the series and i thank her for that!

~may contain spoilers for those who have not read the first two books~

The relationship between Jace and Clary is put to the ultimate test when Clary finds out that there is a cure for their mother. Simon is now a vampire and is captured during the first half of the book. As Clary tries to find this cure she encounters the mysterious Sebastian (the guy on the cover). Valentine now has two of the three Mortal Instruments and if he gets his hand on the third one...well something bad is gonna happen. Clary, Jace and the others try and figure out what the third Mortal Instrument is and try to get to it before Valentine does.
The characters in the book deal with entrapment, death, forbidden love, betrayal and dishonor. There is lot of heartbreak in this book, but there is also hope in the end. Readers will be satisfied with the ending of the story.

There are also references to Clare's companion Shadowhunter series "The Infernal Devices" which i suggest you should start reading immediately because those books are just as amazing. You should read the first three Mortal Instruments books and them Clockwork Angel before reading the fourth Mortal Instruments City of Fallen Angels, as there will be references in both books which will make reading more enjoyable.
All in all this a great series of fantasy/fiction books, one of the best i have had the pleasure of reading in a long time.
