Product Description

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a work of fantasy fiction, written by J. K. Rowling. It is the penultimate novel of the Harry Potter series. This book was first published on July 16, 2005, by Scholastic. However, this edition was published by Bloomsbury Publishing India Private Limited, on January 1, 2012. Harry Potter is a fantasy book series, where the main character is Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling is a British novelist who is best known for this particular series. She even won several awards for the book series. Previously she used to work as a bilingual secretary and researcher for Amnesty International. It was during a delayed train journey that she conceived the idea of writing a fantasy novel and she never had to look back after the publication of the first book of the Harry Potter series. Other than the Harry Potter series, other books written by her are The Silkworm, The Casual Vacancy and The Cuckoo's Calling.

The story is set during the sixth year of Harry's stay at Hogwarts. It delves into the past of the protagonist's nemesis, Lord Voldermort. The narration also shows how Harry prepares to counter the evil, along with the help from his mentor, Albus Dumbledore. Also, the book discusses that the witches, Muggles, and wizards are dying in spite of the earnest efforts of the Order of the Phoenix and the Ministry of Magic to save them. A war begins. In spite of the dangerous situation, Harry, along with his friends, Hermione as well as Ron, go back to the Hogwarts. Another new teacher, Professor Snape, welcomes Harry, Ron and Hermione to their 6th year at Hogwarts. Professor Snape is a Defence Against the Dark Arts tutor. After the commencement of the classes, Harry is nominated as the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain and this requires him to reform his team.

In this book of the series, Harry finally realises and accepts the fact that he is the 'chosen one' who will have to take action against Lord Voldermort. Harry, along with Dumbledore, explores Voldermort's past. To add to his misery, Professor Snape plans to make Harry's life even more difficult. It is for the readers to find out whether Harry wins against Voldermort.      Harry’s Sixth Year at Hogwarts 3 January, 2014 On
Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts is serious and dark. Harry trains with Prof. Dumbledore during the entire year to learn how to overcome and defeat Voldemort. The death of yet another loved, great character came as an absolute shock; it was mind-numbing to read about this death. One of the highlights/happy moments of this book are the relationships - Harry and Ginny coming together, while Ron slowly discovers Hermione’s importance and meaning in his life.
