The 'Meluha Mrutyunjayulu' is the Telugu version of The Immortals of Meluha. It is the first book of the mythological Shiva trilogy written by Amish Tripathi. The novel is a fictional story based on the life of a man who has been considered as god by many. The book brings in a new perspective to the life of Shiva. The story is set in 1900 B.C. In the Indus Valley Civilization. The resident called the land Meluha that was a beautiful and advanced kingdom established by Lord Rama many years ago. The inhabitants are looking at a drought as the much adored Sarasvati river is slowly drying. Moreover, they are also facing terrorist attacks from the land of the Chandravanshis. The situation is further worsened when the Chandravanshis join forces with the Nagas. The Nagas are feared by almost all the inhabitants of Meluha as they are an ostracized race of deformed humans who are sinister, violent and possess astonishing martial arts skills. The inhabitants of Meluha known as Suryavanshis are led to believe in an ancient prophecy which states that a hero will arise when all seems lost. Is the rough, Tibetian immigrant Shiva the hero they all are praying for? Will he be able to save the world from the evil forces? Will Shiva be able to live up to the expectations of his people and destroy the Nagas?

Amish Tripathi is a famous Indian author. He has graduated his management degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.   1.  A well Fabricated Fiction story ! 1 April, 2013 On
    The author has amalgamated facts and fiction really well to create a spell binding and interesting story. The language is easy and you can finish the book in one setting, but the story is quite gripping. It's good to read about mythology from a fiction point of view
