Information Components: Information Components as a Basis for Crowdsourced Information System Development

This book introduces the concept of information components as a general mechanism that supports the creation and composition of an information system in a modular and incremental manner based on the model of crowdsourcing. The unit of reuse is an information component that comprises metadata and data. The concept of information components is specified through a well-defined metamodel and has been implemented as a metamodel extension module of an object database that integrates business logic.
