Overview: Killing Kennedy: The End of Camelot

The assassination of John F. Kennedy sent a wave of shock and terror across the citizens of the United States of America. Killing Kennedy:The End of Camelot tells the chilling tale of a conspiracy behind the death of the beloved president in January 1961. Authors Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard have created an intriguing narrative, highlighting the last moments in Kennedy's life, the tragic shooting, and the resulting aftermath.

Though the shooter, Lee Harvey Oswald was later tracked down and arrested, he was shot in prison and the truth behind who ordered the shooting remains a mystery. Using their journalistic instincts, O'Reilly and Dugard get under the skin of the matter to find out the facts that transpired in the 60's, and which led to the killing of the president. Filled with suspense, scandals and names of people who weren't too happy with Kennedy's presidency, this book engulfs the readers and forces them to think on their own. The authors have used available evidence as a basis to create the narrative, but they have also questioned some of the facts that still remain hidden.

Bill O'Reilly is a political commentator of immense fame, who has authored several best-selling books including Killing Lincoln, Lincoln's Last Days and The Last Days of Jesus. His penchant for delivering the truth at any cost is evident in his TV show and also in his books. Martin Dugard has previously co-authored Killing Lincoln with O'Reilly and is known to immerse himself completely in the research for his books. His novels, Farther Than Any Man and The Last Voyage of Columbus narrate the life and times of Captain James Cook and Columbus respectively, whereas in the book, Into Africa, Dugard tells the story of Henry Morton Stanley and David Livingstone.

  1.  Juicy page turner. not sure how much is true 21 February, 2013 On
This book is lot about JFK and Jackie, and juicy details of their extravagant, celebrity lifestyles. It's thoroughly entertaining in that respect. But if you are looking for great political commentary, deep research, and really a vivid picture of what led to the assassination, this book is as good as O'reilly's TV show - high on spin, low on facts.
