Product Description

Tom Hooper directed this Oscar winning movie and its lead protagonist are the gorgeous Colin Firth and stunning Helena Bonham Carter. Perhaps every British actor aspires to play the role of a British Royal Monarch and this time Colin Firth just took it to another level. He won an Oscar award for his incredible performance in this movie.

The movie is set in the time between the two world wars. The film has earned such brilliant reviews won many BAFTA awards as well. The film is about the rise of King George VI (played by Colin Firth). This movie is about how he struggled and tried to get over his stage fright, fear of speaking in public and most of all his stammering. It is inevitable that a leader and particularly a monarch ought to be a great public orator such that he can address people. It is a big part of the job for a royal family member. As he decides to get over his limitations and fears, he hires Lionel Logue who us is a wicked and completely flashy speech therapist. The role of Lionel Logue is played by Geoffrey Rush.

Initially the two of them dont get along very well and end up fighting but soon they develop a great relationship of friendship that lasts a lifetime. As George VI, Colin Firth, has a played the role of a man who is loved by his family and friends, who is extremely humble in his own way and wins hearts even though he trembles with his speech. Geoffrey Rush as Logue on the other heart plays the role of a man who is witty, funny and has a great comic timing, who refuses to change his demeanor for his most prominent client ever. The movie also has a great supporting cast like Michael Gambon who plays King George V, Guy Percy who plays King Edward VIII and Timothy Spall who plays the role of the great Winston Churchill. Helen Bonham Carter plays the role of his wife while very interestingly Jennifer Ehle who starred with Colin Firth in the historic BBC drama Pride and Prejudice plays the role of Lionels wife. British royal and political affairs often have the tendency to get boring but this one is a masterpiece as it never fails to lose your attention and keeps you focused and asking for more.

This is a movie with great screen play and cinematography. Inspired by true events, it tells a tale of friendship on similar lines of the Prince and the Pauper and how a man overcome his disabilities and conquer his fears to become a successful King. It is a story of great friendship between essentially a prince and a pauper, a man's journey to overcome his own personal adversaries and become the king he was born to be. Bring home this amazing movie that has been showered with awards for its incredible storytelling and entertainment.
