Overview: The Lake of Sharks

Tintin and the Lake of Sharks is an adapted version of the animated film of the same name, which was directed by Raymond Leblanc. A precious pearl is stolen from a renowned aquarium in Brussels one night, and as soon as they are done stealing it, the crooks replace it with a fake pearl. On noticing this, the manager remembers that a similar incident had occurred a while back somewhere else.

Some days later, Tintin, Captain Haddock, The Thompson twins and Professor Calculus are travelling through Syldavia in Balkans, when their plane crashes due to mysterious circumstances. They are rescued by Nouchka, a young local girl and her brother, Niko. Tintin and his friends are then informed that their destination, the lake, is cursed and hosts an underwater town. Professor Calculus then showcases his latest invention, which is a breakthrough technological advancement in the photography area. But what exactly is it capable of producing? Who rigged the plane engine to kill Tintin and his team? Will Tintin uncover the secret behind the missing pearl before another attack is made on his life?

The Adventures of Tintin series was created in 1929 by Hergé, which is a pen name adopted by Belgian cartoonist Georges Remi. He wrote 23 different volumes in the The Adventures of Tintin series, where he combined mystery and adventure along with iconic historical events to educate and entertain the young ones. Other comic book series famously written by Hergé are Quick & Flupke and The Adventures of Jo, Zette and Jocko. This comic book, though not originally created by Hergé, still stays true to his classic style of intertwining a mystery with adventure. Tintin and the Lake of Sharks was written by his friend Greg, and the illustrations in the book are actual stills from the movie.

Published in English by Egmont, this paperback edition of the comic book comprises 64 pages of action, adventure, humour and suspense. Its ISBN 10 number is 1405206349 and its ISBN 13 number is 9781405206341. You can shop for this book online today and join Tintin on a new thrilling adventure.
