The author Georges Prosper Remi, or Hergé as he is commonly known, was born in Brussels in 1907 and has written 23 albums of The Adventures of Tintin Series in the course of 54 years. This series became so popular that it has not only been adapted into major motion pictures, but also into stage plays, television and radio shows. There are exhibitions and fairs held all over the world for Tintin fans to come and pay homage to their favourite cartoon. The character itself has received awards such as the International Campaign for Tibet's Light of Truth Award bestowed onto him by the esteemed Dalai Lama.
