"Meluha ke Mritunjay (Immortals of Meluha) (Hindi)" is one of the best masterpieces that have been compiled till date. This book is a Hindi edition of the popular English novel titled as "Immortals of Meluha". Basically a historical and a fantasy based novel, this Hindi version, like its English version, has a story that is set in 1900 BC, which had the Harappan or Indus Valley Civilisation in India. It focuses on the popular Hindu belief, which is about Karma and also about Shiva who is a popular Hindu God.
The main story
The main plot revolves around the inhabitants of the Harappan Civilisation in Meluha, who are under a threat of an anticipated impending disaster. This disaster comes in the form of the drying Saraswati River. Adding to that, these inhabitants are always subjected to constant threats of attacks from Chandravanshis, their neighbours. These Chandravanshis have actually collaborated with the Nagas for launching an attack upon the Suryavanshis. The habitants being completely helpless and desolate now look upon the old legend that says about the arrival of a warrior.
Would it be Shiva who can save these people from this typical, woeful situation? Will the river Saraswati get revived in any possible way? And what would be the fate of these inhabitants' arch-enemy, the Chandravanshis? All these answers can be only found in this outstanding book.
The Author's Success
Amish Tripathi, although being finance professional, has conceived the story in a crispy way. By heightening the climax situations, he has been able to hold on to the interest of mass readers. The addition of Hindu beliefs creates an interesting fancy. He has also used the concepts of community or racial differences by including the Chandravanshis, who are always threatening the inhabitants of Meluha. For making the story more interesting, Tripathi has carved each and every character with perfection.
A Masterpiece Critique
This book actually reveals the critical situations of an ideal society. By showing both pros and cons, this narrative plays the role of a perfect critique. Appreciated by many Indian well-known critics and millions of common men, the story line is bound to leave an everlasting impression. From all aspects, this book is indeed a masterpiece.
An appealing book
"Meluha ke Mritunjay", since available in Hindi, makes the book more appealing to those who are not well adapted to English. The Hindi version in fact creates a more realistic feel as it gets juxtaposed with the popular Hindu beliefs. These beliefs reinforce the lost Indian traditions as well. The sinister journey makes the book a rejuvenating and refreshing experience.
Since this novel is easily available in paperback, you can carry it anywhere. The Hindi version of "Immortals of Meluha" is as interesting and thrilling as the English version that was released in 2011. "Meluha ke Mritunjay" is the perfect fusion of spirituality with art.
