     A Good Phablet! 20 January, 2014 On
Micromax Superfone Canvas 2 A110 like all members of Canvas series has 5 inch display. It is an enhanced version of its predecessor Canvas that was launched earlier. It has 1 GHz dual core processor and comes loaded with Android v 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

    5 inch IPS LCD display
    8 MP rear camera
    Plenty of Custom ROM
Upgradable to Android 4.2 JellyBean (CyanogenMod coming soon)

FWVGA resolution for 5 inch display simply poor, 196 ppi
512 MB RAM not known for gaming, 1 GB required
8 MP rear camera fails to record quality video in low-light
No support of 720p HD video (runs with lag)
    No 720p video recording support

This is a nice phone with android ics os and 5inch display. The performance is good and video is smooth on YouTube. An excellent phone and great value for money.

Good value for money, but what you pay is what you get 2 February, 2013 On
One can't argue with the value the A110 offers at its price point. After the success of the A100, Micromax has chosen to launch the a110 thereby upping it offer in the low economy smartphone segment. The industrial design for this phone is robust and gives the use a sense of solidity, you get all the standard android ice cream sandwich features with some upgrades, the 5" inch screen leaves a bit to be desired though -- the resolution is just not high enough compared to some of the modern phones. but overall great value for money, keep it up micromax.

2 months running. flawed but acceptable 9 January, 2013 On
Bought the canvas a110 and was very skeptical but it has won me over. Sure, the slightly under powered, the screen density isn't very high or that too many apps running in the background does make it slow unless they are closed. But consider this, it gives 30 hours battery backup with one charge and moderate usage, it runs any game in play store flawlessly, has Wi-Fi tethering, good camera and the touch is surprisingly good. All that for 10k. Now consider the next phone with the same capabilities. The Samsung galaxy s advance or the Xperia u... they are all over 17k, are smaller and give much lesser battery life. One word of advice, to get a well calibrated battery discharge the battery completely and charge full for the first 10 charge cycles.

  6.  Poor man's Samsung Galaxy Note 2 January, 2014 On
I've been using this product since last year .
This was my first time using a micromax product, the specifications sounded too good to be true for the price .
This will be an honest review.
The product is good but not in a long run or for usage these days at that price.
There are many better phones out there for the same or cheaper price.

Now where to start with the product
The phone has an excellent slick plastic design and the weight is reasonable for its size
The design is clean. The only problem you would face is the protuding camera lenses which may cause damage on on it when kept on its back side.

5 inch screen- one of the main features of canvas 2 is its huge screen size gives of a good display and a rich detailed look . Mind it its not an HD resolution.

Running on ice cream sandwich 4.0 and 512 Mb RAM , it is compatible for wide range of applications and games to run on it.

The 5 inch screen gives off a gorgeous " HD like " look but not the same.

It has 2 GB internal memory which isn't enough for the average users so an extra extension SD card from 4 - 32GB may be required for various storage like games and numerous apps.

The screen size is advantageous for accurate typing using 2 hands and may cause problem for single hand typists if their hand isn't big enough .

The phone runs fast and nicely with medium number of applications installed. Has various settings for user customization .

The phone's screen gives for AWESOME VIDEO EXPERIENCE I've ever had,
Watching videos during these winter nights are just priceless on the phone's screen, the phone can play VIDEOS UP TO 720P

The speakers on the phone to be honest ARE NOT UP TO THE MARK, i recommend using ear phones for richer experience.

The phone specs ARE NOT good for running high end games which are on playstore these days . They will crash or freeze immediately on the phone, but games like temple run , fruit ninja, subway surfers work good enough with occasional lags due to the low 512 MB RAM.

    Now for the camera
It has an 8 MP rear and a VGA camera for its front one.
The camera on this phone ARE NOT WHAT THEY SAY, in my experience it delivers performance the same as 3 MP camera, and VGA camera is just horrible with dark and dim look, NOT AT ALL GOOD FOR SKYPE OR VIDEO CHAT.
So if you are buying the phone for the camera, then its time to turn back now .

The battery backup is normal 4 and 1/2 hours at best with normal usage and if you are playing games, may only last up to 2 or 3 hours.

Overall the phone is good for a normal average user who wants the looks and the big screen. It is not good if you are planning to multitask and have huge number of applications running at the same time. i have faced NUMEROUS CRASHES AND FREEZES during this year of my usage.

Did i mention the horrible service at micromax ?
My phone once got damaged and they took a whole month to fix it, with constant calls. they don't even care to tell us if they have repaired. You have to be constantly be in contact and push them to work..
They don't care for the customers.

My recommendation would be putting some extra cash and going for samsung galaxy core which offers better performance and better quality .

    Hope my review helps :)

  7.  Worth buying for (1 year back) 19 December, 2013 On
My review is totally based on my past 1 year experience with Canvas 2.
It's a great phone to begin with but looking at current feature coming up this phone is obsolete now. (512 RAM, 2GB onboard memory, Dual Core Processor)

I would still recommend this phone to
    - People who are not planning to play extensive gaming
    - Who requires very less memory and now going to download too many apps (Phone has very limited on board memory and some apps like whatsapp takes 100+ MB of space)
    - Don't care about latest OS version and not bother about update ICS to Jelly Bean

    Problem I faced so far
    - Phone has very limited memory.
    - Sometime it doesn't connect easily to data connection (Specially 2nd sim)
    - Camera quality is OK OK
    - When I tried upgrading it's OS I couldn't do it on Windows 7 machine as drivers didn't worked. But one of my friend told me that drivers works smoothly on Win XP machine.

I am thinking about replacing this phone with Moto G and planning to keep this one as backup and for experiment purpose.

Great phone, but not for pro usage 30 March, 2013 On
I gave this phone 3 stars only because it is priced at 10k. If it were priced like a regular phone, I would have given it 1 star (or lower, if possible).

This is a basic phone for a light user. I am OK with the display (more resolution on a 5" screen is superfluous most of the time). The batter backup is excellent. It is good that you can plug in a 32GB microSD.

But every thing else is sub-par.

The worst thing about this phone is that the call quality suffers if you have several apps running in the background. If you talk while roaming, you must except several call drops along the way.

IMHO, if you are a heavy phone user (why else would you want a massive battery), this is unforgivable.

Other than that, WiFi antenna is relatively poor. GPS is relatively slow. Camera is relatively dull. Music is relatively muffled (though, if you are not looking for hifi quality, this phone will do just fine).

Bottom line: If you are a heavy phone user, smart or otherwise, this phone is not for you. If you are a light user, then you will be perfectly happy with it (the screen resolution, IMHO, is perfectly OK).
