Middle School: Get Me Out of Here is the sequel to Middle School: The Worst Year of My Life. The series has been penned by James Patterson and Chris Tebbetts. The first book in the series went on to become a New York Times bestseller. The series is primarily aimed at kids and young adults.
The story revolves around a young boy named Rafe. In Middle School: Get Me Out of Here, Rafe is in seventh grade. He has finally passed 6th standard and thinks that the worst is behind him. However, he is in for a rude shock. His mother is fired from her job, which forces them to move in with Rafes grandmother. Rafe is unable to reconcile with the moving part. Things get better though when he is accepted to a leading art school of the city. He is happy that he finally does not have to study gruesome mathematics and history.
However, he soon finds out that it is not as easy as it seems. There is much competition out there. In order to tide over it all, Rafe decides to start a mission, which he calls Operation: Get a Life! He decides that he will do everything and anything that he has not done before. Thus begins his tryst with adventure, which lands him in trouble both at school and home. He goes to R-rated movies, destroys a friends art project, learns to play poker, and attends an art museum for the first time, among other things. Along the way, he stumbles across some family secrets which take him by surprise, such as the truth behind his missing father
