Overview: The Mystery in Venice: 48

The Mystery in Venice: Geronimo Stilton is the forty eighth story of the Geronimo Stilton books. The book narrates the rodent protagonist's adventurous investigation in the city of Venice. The book is written from the perspective of the protagonist, creating an impression that he is narrating his own adventures. He is also credited with the copyrights to the books in the series. The character, as well as the fictional universe, were created by Elisabetta Dami, a popular author of children's novels in Italy. This edition of the book was published in 2012 by Scholastic Inc. It is available in the English language and can be ordered online in India, from one of the retailers listed on this page.

The books in the series narrate the story of Geronimo Stilton, who works as the editor and a journalist in The Rodent's Gazette, a fictional newspaper in New Mouse City on Mouse Island. This book narrates Geronimo's return from a holiday trip to Swiss Alps, which he enjoyed, but was left with jet lag. The book talks about a crystal boat that Petunia Pretty Paws, one of Geronimo's friends, gifted to him. It also reveals that Geronimo, who had a major crush on her, accepted the gift even though he found it to be ugly. As the story progresses, Geronimo's cousin Trap Stilton accidentally breaks the crystal boat and Geronimo discovers a small piece of paper inside the broken boat, which has a message written by someone from Venice, asking for help. Ever the gentlemouse, the rodent protagonist embarks on an adventure to save the poor soul. Will he be able to find and save the person in distress?
