  1.  A tale of Hong Kong 5 October, 2013 On
For a noob with no idea of Hong Kong, this was a great read. In fact, after reading this book, I watched a National Geographic documentary on Hong Kong, and could relate so well to this book.

While this book is not as engrossing as Clavell's other books, I cannot rate it low simply because of the complex characters he tends to create. I love the way he has layers around each, and how they unfold through the story. Read this narrative on Hong Kong to understand how that island is so important in the scheme of things of this planet and how it could very well be on of the wealthiest places on this planet if only the people of Hong Kong were to reveal their worth.
