Overview: One Night at the Call Center

In winter 2004, a writer met a young girl on a night train journey. To pass the time, she offered to tell a story. However, she had a condition: that he make it into his second book. He hesitated, but asked what the story was about. The girl said the story was about six people working in a call center, set in one night. She said it was the night they got a phone call. That phone call was from God. Welcome to one night 2 call center, another witty, dark novel from the award-winning author of the national bestseller Five Point Someone. Are you ready to take the Call?

Exactly as the title states, this novel describes the happenings during one night at the call center (Connexions call center). The story revolves around Shyam, Priyanka, Vroom, Esha, Radhika and Military Uncle and the various happenings in their life both in and outside work. During the course of one eventful night at work, these six come to terms with reality and take charge of their respective lives.

  2.  A sure recreation asset 30 May, 2013 On
    Genre: Humor, Thriller

    Language: Witty, Easy English

Brief: The life story of Indian call-center people, explained in a dramatic way. A couple of guys from call center and the betrayal, the difficulties, the fun they overcome and experience has been portrayed through this. The general call center life and their employees. The hurdles and the enjoyment they go throughout their life in the call center. The story starts with the writer on a train and asked by a beautiful lady stranger to write a novel on the general middle class people of the 20th century (which was the call-center employees), and ends with the writer waking up to see a spiritual being passing him in the train. The rest of it is all research of the writer on the call center life and their employees. One employee being the main character and the surrounding employees being the story movers. All of them ended up in a drastic situation that is going to change their thought process and the rest of their life.

Comments (in brief): While reading the book, the one thing that will make you wonder is, ‘is that a true story!” And believe me, a stories that let people wonder like that are the one that provides the audience some sort of un-explainable satisfaction. A very easy read book and for people who lost their habit of reading book, this can be a good re-start (worked for me). For people with medium habit of reading books, can complete it within one or two days (of-course, including breaks). A well read. Written in a perfect humor English. From my personal experience, I have almost lost my interest on reading book, and then, started it again with this. So if you do have similar kind of friends or acquaintances who all lost their interest on reading books after school, you can always gift this (if he haven’t yet read it, which is quiet unnatural for this famous book). The perfect addition of drama and twist at the end is like “oohhhh!”. Please do read it, it’s worth a read, and might not take more than a day or two to complete the book (if you had a practice of reading, once upon a time).

  3.  Another trash in the market 9 July, 2014 On
Five point someone was appreciated among youngster across India that motivated Mr Baghat to write one more trash. Its very unfortunate for a country like India where in such crappy novels get such great response, it actually talks about the collective social consciousness of the country and where are we heading as a nation and as a culture.
Chetan has used pseudo pornography to attract youngster and he has been successful, I believe that he knows pretty well that his writing is not any form of literature and not even close to it.
He is articulating pornography in most glorified and sophisticated way and that's actually bringing him monetary benefit but think for a while what value are you adding , you are just triggering the persuasions of hormones in youth and making money.
You need to justify your existence.

  4.  Honest attempt on writing in initial days 30 May, 2014 On
This book fortunately got saved from the high handed treatment of Movie writer Chetan Bhagat, because it was written by a newbie wanna-be writter Chetan Bhagat who left his investment banking job for what so ever reason and followed his passion to be a writer.

The book actually is on unrealistic paranormal experience but has been written honestly without dreaming to convert it into a movie.
The movie happend and was a dud...
so the book still retains it's charm.

Read it, only if you have nothing better to read or you are an avid Chetan Bhagat Fan.

  5.  Complete wast of time 27 December, 2013 On
The Books success was due to the fan following created by the previous book by the same author.
The wastes more the half the time describing the characters in the book with a dismal attempt at maybe trying to connect to the audience or gain their sympathy.
If you are stuck up in a lonely island I'd rather use it for firewood. ate time reading it.
    Strictly NOT worth reading.
