  1.  Excellent product 16 November, 2013 On
I bought it from Amazon this Diwali for my mother. The product is awesome in following sense
    - I got it for just 3175/- which is very competitive prize for this product. Thanks to Amazon.
-It is very simple to use, my mother who can't read English is able to use it pretty comfortably without much training.
-Easy to clean and safe design. I was trying it on first day and I spoiled- literally it bathed in the curry! I just switched it off, took a cotton cloth and cleaned it. No liquid sipped into any elctronic circuitry and it just worked fine after switching it on again.
    - Design is elegant and it looks great in kitchen.
-My mother wanted this cooktop mainly to heat water for bathing, at 2100W/270C it makes buckeful of bathing water in just few minutes. I however use it at 180C which takes around 10-12 minutes to heat around 6 ltrs of water to its boiling. Note- Do not cook more than 8Kg weight (including container) on this cooktop.

I would recommend this product for anyone.

  2.  Seven reasons to buy this intelligent induction cooktop. 6 May, 2014 On
I bought this cooktop about 2 months back. I have been using another induction cooktop since November 2011. Here are some features that make the Philips HD 4938 a superb choice.
    1. It shows a very consistent heating, even at lower temperatures, so the evening tea comes better than the previous cooktop. Earlier showed to small start and stop cycle.
    2. The menu function is just so Indian, I am in love with it. With roti/dosa autobutton these tough on induction tasks become so easy.
    3. The slow cook function has given my cooking a new dimension. I always wanted to buy a crockpot for this reason but thanks to this slow cook, now delectable dishes without worrying about burning at the bottom.
    4. No cutoffs during frying. This was one of the most annoying things to hapen in my previous cooktop. Within 3 minutes it used to turn off and an error05 was written on the display. Once that appeared even switching on and odd didnt help.
    5. The placement of cooling fan is better because it is nearer the free end which helps better dissipation of heat.
    6. The "Pause" funtion is another great addition. You dont have to set the time and temperature if you need a break for any reason.
    7. Child Lock- Last but not the least, with hyperactive kids of about 6 years in age, this will prove to be a boon.

The timer adjustment is a bit tacky. If you have cooked on manual mode, and want to set a few minutes to stop, you are going to have a tough time. It starts with 30 minutes so invariable you need to push the minus button. It deceases is chunks of 10 and is too fast to keep track.

My Take: Must Buy, This is a magnificent addition in the arsenal of all modern working and responsible Husbands .

  3.  nice one 9 February, 2014 On
As a newbie, i feel that the product is good. The only downside I see is that the fan sound is little annoying (May be that's unavoidable). I don't have any experience with other induction stoves whether they would have fan sounding like this, but if that is expected, I would certainly recommend this product
