Must read for beginners! 9 September, 2013 On Junglee.com
Freeman touches the 'art' side of photography, rather than the commonly elaborated technical side. And boy does he do a good job! The emphasis is laid on the composition of a photograph and what role subject(s), placement, background, foreground play in making a picture more dynamic and exciting. Even then, Freeman does not enforce his opinion and maintains that as long as the photographer is able to justify the image, there are no definite rules governing a good photograph. The focus is on the word INTENT.

Freeman explains in great detail the process he follows (waiting for the right shot, coming back later, trying different positions, etc.) and illustrates with good images. These images are then compared to understand the differences and how one is an improvement over the other. Overall, a novice photographer (or even a pro) can learn a thing or two from this book! Highly recommended!
