  1.  Poirot Investigates review: A refreshing and an enthralling light read. 30 May, 2014 On
Agatha Christie's - Poirot Investigates - is a short story collection of eleven whodunits which feature her renowned Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot and his sidekick Hastings as they tackle various mysteries ranging from Missing Will to Curse of pharaoh's tomb, from disappearance of a banker to abduction of a Prime Minister.

Among these cases are some rather interesting ones like - The Disappearance of Mr. Davenheim - in which the detective boasts of solving the case without visiting the actual site or rather from confines of chair at home. In one of the other cases - The Million Dollar Bond Robbery - the bonds that are stolen aboard a cruise liner are stolen midway and being sold on land even before the liner is docked. Another one - The Case of the Missing Will - which proves almost too much for the mighty detective.

Each of the cases is neatly constructed in few pages and has subtle hints but deduction is best left in the hands of the detective as most of them seem baffling to Hastings and Scotland Yard inspector Japp. Since these are short stories, one can easily read an entire mystery in a short break or while commuting via public transport. Makes for a refreshing and an enthralling light read.
