The much coveted and universally popular television series 'Prison Break' has been created by Paul Scheuring who is an American screenwriter and director known for his 2003 film A Man Apart. If you're a sucker for thriller and suspense, this 'The complete set of Prison Break series 1' is a must have for your collection. Treat yourself with unforeseen surprises, impeccable acting performances, and a whole lot of prison breaking. Watch the series in all its glory from where it all began.

Scheuring is also the head writer and executive producer of Prison Break, which is a story of two brothers, one of whom is sentenced to death for a crime not committed by him and the other brother formulates a plan to help him escape from the prison. This drama series premiered on FOX in 2005 and the first season received positive reviews and because of the good ratings it was extended to 22 episodes instead of the planned 13 episodes. Prison Break's audience is generally in the age group of 18 and up as it contains violence and sexual and drug references.

The first season revolves around the rescue of Lincoln Borrows which is played by 44 year old English born Australian actor Dominic Purcell who is accused of murdering the brother of vice president of the United States of America. Lincoln is sentenced to death for this crime and is incarcerated in Fox River State Penitentiary where he awaits his execution. Lincoln's brother, Michael Scofield played by the Wentworth Miller a 42 year old American actor, screen writer and producer, is convinced of Lincoln's innocence and devices an escape plan. Michael commits an armed robbery to gain access to Fox Rivers, which in turn results in him being sentenced to Fox River.

The series follows their trial to escape prison while being hindered by members of an organization known as 'The Company'.'The Company' is the same group of people who is responsible for framing Lincoln.

In the series the protagonist Michael Scofield's tattoo plays an important part as it contains the finer details of his escape strategy. 24 individual designs containing the of the most important elements of his escape plan are derived from Scofield's hard drive which when combined form one whole tattoo that covers almost half of his body. This tattoo is Designed by Tom Berg, who is a California based painter and a celebrity tattoo artist and created by Tinsley Transfers, who are famous for creating the most realistic temporary tattoos for the motion picture and television industry. This tattoo took approximately five hours to be painted on Scofield. As the series progresses the tattoo is removed to help conceal Michael's identity.

The majority of the episodes of Prison Break are shot on location in and around Chicago outside of Hollywood. The scenes of Lincoln's cell and the prison yard in Fox River State Penitentiary are shot in the Joliet Correctional Center also known as Joliet Prison which was a prison in Illinois from 1858 to 2002. Joliet prison is featured in many other motion pictures like The Blues Brothers and Let's Go To Prison. It was rumored that Lincoln's cell during the shooting was the same in which American serial killer John Wayne Gacy who was convicted of murdering 33 teenage boys was incarcerated. External scenes were shot in areas in and around Joliet and Chicago. The cost of shooting one episode is estimated to be 2 million dollars.

The theme music of Prison Break is composed by Ramin Djawadi who is an Iranian film composer of orchestral music for film and television. Ramin Djawadi also has the guitar driven scores of Iron man and Pacific Rim, which were nominated at the Grammys much to his credit. He has also worked his magic on other popular TV series like The Person Of Interest and Game of Thrones.

Prison Break was nominated in People's Choice Award as the Favorite New TV Drama in 2005 and won the award in January 2006 and Djawadi's theme music for prison break was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2006.
