Overview: Prisoners of the Sun

Prisoners of the Sun, written by Belgian cartoonist Hergé, is the fourteenth book in The Adventures of Tintin series. It continues from the where The Seven Crystal Balls left off and showcases Tintin, a young journalist gearing up for a whole new set of adventures with Snowy, his faithful mutt, and Captain Haddock in tow. This time, they are on the hunt for Professor Calculus, who has been kidnapped by mysterious natives.

In order to rescue the Professor, they set out into the dense forest, where they are constantly under attack. Aided by a young boy named Zorrino, Tintin and his friends undertake a journey to the Temple of the Sun, deep within an ancient Inca settlement. They have to battle the hostile natives and even more, dangerous animals such as bears, anacondas and alligators. Will Tintin, Snowy and Captain survive the onslaught of the natives? Will they be able to rescue Professor Calculus? The mysteries unfold as out young hero takes on his toughest journey yet.

Georges Prosper Remi, more famously known by his pen name, Hergé, is known all over the world for his refined skill of spinning stunning tales of adventure in comic form. He pioneered the Ligne Claire style of drawing and his works are loved by readers of all age groups. The first book in the Tintin series was introduced in 1929, which soon went on to become one of the best comic book series of the 20th century. Hergé also wrote other series such as Quick & Flupke and The Adventures of Jo, Zette and Jocko. His books are read even today, and continue to inspire modern comics and writers.
