Summary of the Book

Two boys, one girl, a dream, love, friendship; these are the primary elements of this interesting novel. Set in the holy land of Varanasi, this is a story of three friends: Gopal, Raghav and Aarti. Gopal and Raghav hail from very different backgrounds but they share a similar dream - of being successful by realizing the goals that they have set for their respective lives.

Gopal and his family have seen years of property dispute and all he wants is to amass a lot of wealth. On the other hand, Raghav wants to shake the corrupted political scenario with his revolutionary ideas and thoughts. Caught in the middle is Aarti, a common friend, with whom both Raghav and Gopal fall in love. She is torn between the two and has the power to potentially ruin an old friendship. The situation gets more complicated when Gopal gives in to the corrupt system, the very cause that Raghav is adamant about fighting. The book is an account of how their friendship is affected with conflicting interests, a common love interest, and their strong ambitions.

Chetan Bhagat is improving, this being his best yet. 16 June, 2014 On Junglee.com
As of now, Revolution 2020 is easily Chetan Bhagat's best plotted novel. Also a triangular love story, this novel depicts politics in it's own Indian way.

Set in the city of Varanasi, Revolution 2020 is the story of Gopal, Raghav and Aarti. Gopal takes the narrative role to himself and the story revolves around Gopal's love for Aarti.

Revolution 2020 is more of a journey of self discovery and finding the path leading to one's ambition. The novel takes no time to establish the characters, but does well in twisting the plot around.

The author has made quite a remarkable touch writing about the educational system that is of now, and how much of a role it actually plays in one's life.

Chetan Bhagat has managed to craft his best story yet, and has done it well.

    A 3.75/5

     It's Very nice book 5 July, 2012 On Junglee.com
    i like it........

The writer or rather, the narrator has recovered from a question that has not received much entertainment media attention (at least exclusively and directly) and other social issues like poverty, employment and religion / the terrorism. It has thus tried to capitalize on the uniqueness of the subject, but has failed miserably from the point of view of content.

  4.  Too Bad 22 April, 2014 On Junglee.com
I really dont like chetan bhagat much.but again once my friend told me about a new arrival "revolution 2020"
i made my mistake.i bought this novel.its like an old indian movie from 70's with a illogical yet fake climax.

This book is the best example of how a person just because he as a ‘Fame’ attached to his ‘Name’ could earn by writing an utterly senseless story with the title totally irrelevant to the story itself and push it on people. It talks about nothing but Jealousy, Falsehood, Misery and Deceit as the book is by itself.

This book is a complete disappointment and total waste of money as well as time. Chetan should better try writing movie scripts rather than novels. It would be high time he stops portraying women as bitches and writing tireless stories about IITs. If he knows nothing else than these, then he should better quit writing stories.

This book is not worthy of even a single star rating.

  5.  Inspirational book and a must read 18 January, 2014 On Junglee.com
    - I have read many of Chetan bhagat books and this book stands apart.
    - I took this book because of the title "Revolution 2020" .
    - The best part of the book was it is a modern story which talks about the dreams and aspiration of the middle class India. There is a quest in the youngsters of the present time to excel in life at any cost. The author draws our attention towards the means that are followed by the people to achieve success. The moral that the author draws is that there is no shortcut to success.
    - This is a must read and the Chetan bhagats style of writing will keep you engrossed in the novel.
    - It is definitely value for money.

    Verdict :
If you are a fan of Chetan bhagat style of writing , then this is the book that you should read. The 3 friends with different vision and their determination to succeed in life is showcased in the book.

  6.  Be in the centre of change 5 May, 2014 On Junglee.com
Once again,Chetan bhagat provided us a sensational novel.

The story surrounds the holy city,Kashi.Beauty of Kashi is of its Ghats on the bank of river Ganga.

Main characters are three school friends, two boys and a girl.Ups and downs came in their lives when they separate from each other in search of their future.Everyone has dreams in their eyes.Chetan bhagat again hits the mindset of middle class.

Story highlights the corruption rooted in education department.

An young IItian tries to work against corruption, there he faces several problems.

Again mysteries, love, dreams has been enlighted in Bhagat's novel.

    Read it for yours.

  7.  Superb Book...I love it! 18 December, 2014 On Junglee.com
A time relevant book by very popular and my favorite author Chetan Bhagat . Personally after Five Point someone, Two States, Revolution 2020 is my most favorite.
The Characters of Gopal, Raghav and Aarti are well portrayed. If a one person who gone through the pressure of eduction in higher secondary will definitely fell in love with Gopal. Aarti feel like girl next door amd Raghav is the dream character of each common man as per my opinion.

This book justified it s title which is Revolution 2020 which has tag line as Love, Corruption and Ambition.

    SO thumbs for this book.

So go and grab this book now.

  8.  The expectations from youth of India 18 November, 2013 On Junglee.com
The story starts with the basic foundation of love & friendship. Then it gets more aggressive with the complications between the three main characters. The above part relates to most of the young Indians who aspire to join the top notch colleges(IIT) & Univ.

But then the circumstances, corrupt politics & Family background come into play. The way Chentan Bhagat has ended the book is inspiring & motivating.

I hope we break the shackles & build a new India out of our youth.

All in all you will get a hint what is going to happen, then you will want that not to happen, but that will happen.

  9.  No way 6 January, 2015 On Junglee.com
An absolute disaster. It was a triangular love story. Chetan Bhagat has covered almost all topics into this book like poverty, corruption, Love, betrayal, negativity, loss, unemployment, etc.It was all hard to digest. At the end of the novel, Gopal asks chetan Bhagat whether he is a good guy.He doesn't answer him immediately. But if you ask me, the answer is no.Eventually, chetan Bhagat answers him saying he is a good guy.Oh yeah, he is a good guy in the sense he let his friend/competitor, Raghav Kashyab marry his girlfriend even though Aarti loved Raghav

A superb book by Chetan Bhagat. it is not just a fiction but it actually tells us about a lot many thing. The main lesson which is to be learnt from this story is nothing is permanent. Situation changes, people changes and ultimately life changes....A book worth reading....

I specially love this line....though i dont remember exactly but is something like 'Please keep me so busy that i forget everything about what has happened in the past'...

    An awesome novel
