I bought this phone from amazon when there was some discount going on. First of all, amazing shipping and delivery by amazon. Thanks to the seller. Now coming to the phone, it gives a great impression at first look. The design is sleek, classy and very beautiful. The internal features, on the other hand, are nothing out of the world. You will find all essential features in the phone but I guess, this time samsung has more concentrated on the build and design rather than the performance of device. You would find the performance similar to previous launches by samsung such as samsung note 2 etc. I am not saying that they perform poorly but its just that unlike apple, samsung did not try to come out with superb features on all fronts. The phone gets heated up on regular usage i.e. when on call for long or playing games or while charging also. This is not expected in a high-end phone. The fast charger does charges the phone very quickly, probably that is why the heating occurs. You can put the phone on charging for 15 minutes and get 40% battery from 0%. But I am afraid that is going to negatively effect battery life in long run. Battery consumption depends on number of factors: which data (2g, 3g) are you using, backlight settings, apps running in the background, which apps are installed, what is the operating temperature, signal strength and what is the frequency of calls received/dialled. I had used nexus 4 previosuly and with the same amount of these factors listed, it used to run for 12 hours. Samsung galaxy edge runs for 9 hours.
Coming to the pros, the dual edge super amoled does makes the phone feel comfortable in hands and side apps shows up even when you are playing music etc which maximizes on the screen. The camera is one of the best you will find in market. The clarity of both outdoor and indoor shots is simply superb. They pictures have high resolution when clicked with camera having bright aperture of F1.9.Samsung has made it 64-bit octa-core which means 8 processors for hyper-threading. That is a lot of advanced hardware to be provided in a phone but is it really needed? Till recently, I had been using 32-bit laptop only with 2gb RAM. Sure, my phone is technically more advanced than my laptop.
