First off, the display is ridiculous -- it's as good as a tablet's screen. Watching videos is comfortable, and it easily fits in the palm of my hand or in a pocket, so I can take the entertainment with me anywhere I go.
The Galaxy S3 comes with a few free MP3s, videos and apps -- and they're not bad -- but you can download more from Android Marketplace. You basically have complete control over ICS and can customize it to your heart's desire.
As for the complaints about its large size, I don't really have a problem with it. But then again I'm a big man; I guess I could see how the girls would have a hard time with it. There are a few gripes about the "plasticy" feel of the shell. I actually thought this was a plus, since it'll be able to take the bumps and bruises better. With the two-year contract I signed, it should age with time well.
The other reviewers are dead on about S Voice. It sucks. Not only does it not understand commands you throw at it, but Samsung's servers, which process the commands, are sluggish. Siri definitely has nothing to worry about.
Overall, the Galaxy S3 is an amalgamation of cutting-edge technology. It's really better than anything else out there right now. But it's far from perfect. Samsung still needs to refine the device and work out some of the kinks. According to the poster below, Apple definitely has a chance to blow the S3 away when it releases the iPhone 5.
Still, I'd recommend the S3 to anyone considering the iPhone 4S and One X, since you can remove the battery and it comes with a memory slot. I don't think any Apple fan is going to go for the S3, but if you like Android, the S3 is the best out there.
Cons:
Unfortunately, with all that power... comes all that power. And the S3 guzzles up a lot of battery life. When using the S3 under normal conditions, it'll last me around a day before it dies. But you can buy an extended battery to snap in for more power. If I watch high-definition videos, the battery is usually dead within three to four hours. And after a couple weeks, the battery's durability definitely begins to sap -- it won't last as long as when you first purchased it, so you have to charge it more often. I think I'll need to buy a heavy-duty battery in another few months.
Another thing, the back of the handset gets warm when the processor is running hard. It's not uncomfortable, maybe there's too little RAM or something. I find I often have to clear the RAM to play high-definition games. Or the screen will start to stall. I don't know what most people say, but I find the S3's screen a bit too dim to use outdoors, especially in direct sunlight. Was this review helpful to you? -
By 16 May, 2013A great addictive productI have been using this phone for the last 4 months and the experience has been amazing. Its quad-core processor makes the phone pretty fast even with the number of games I have installed. The size of the screen and the super amoled display makes it s treat to play games on it. Add to it the latest version of android and the phone doesn't lack anything! The two problem that I ahve felt is:
1. The battery doesnt last for more than a day at max(but is the case with most other phones as well)
2. In the sunlight glare, it becomes very difficult to use the phone as the screen is barely visible.
Overall I am extremely happy with the deviceWas this review helpful to you? -
14 of 21 people found this review helpfulBy 25 October, 2012Good improvrment ovet S2I bought this phone since my friend place an order and I got a chance to review this beauty. My first impression 1) The phone screen is big and beautiful but the screen brightness is less and the in deapth clarity is not better than HTC one X. 2) The phone is hand but slips away occasionally. 3) The phone is pretty fast and you will like the lock screen graphic. 4) Touch wiz interface is not impressive but some of the sofware features ate very good. 5) The phone occasional hangs, can't blame Samsung for that since its android standard problem. 6) The phone gets heated after accessing internet via 3g for 15 min
Over all the phone is good and can be recommend if the above cons does not matter. I advice compare HTC one X before buying this phone. Was this review helpful to you? -

4 of 7 people found this review helpfulBy 25 January, 2013StunningThis is one of the most successful smartphone ever released by Samsung. It is very well build. The phone is made of polycarbonate(stronger plastic) with glossy back.It is slightly slippery though. It has 4.8 inch super amoled hd display. The blacks are very deep but colours look more saturated far from natural. The brightness is abit low as well.Sun light legibility is pretty decent.Coming to the software it comes with android ics preloaded with android 4.1 update available. The android is heavly customized with touchwiz nature ui.It has some graet features like smart stay etc.But it sometimes is little boring to look at.It is equipped with1.4ghz quad core processor and 1gb ram.The performance is very swift. After jelly bean upgrade lags are gone. The camera is a 8mp one which can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. The camera performance is upto the mark.It is not the best camera phone out there. The internet performance is very fast.Pages load very quick and scorlling is very fast.Graphics is also of top notch. The battery is decent which lasts 1 day of moderate heavy usage.
Verdict:
best phone available
Pros:
1.screen
2.processor
3.graphics
cons:
1.battery
2.ocassional heatWas this review helpful to you? -
5 of 9 people found this review helpfulBy 14 November, 2012The Prodigal AndroidThe Samsung Galaxy S III is one of the top phones on the Android Market right now. Some software issues aside the phone still out performs so many other devices. The hardware side alone is mesmerizing enough and some of the other features just need a bit fine tuning and you have yourself a very worthy phone for a while. Was this review helpful to you?
