Overview: SeaBEAN

On her 11th birthday in 2018, Alice finds a mysterious black box on the beach. She discovers it's called a C-Bean and imagines it belongs to her. Together with her five schoolmates - the only children on the newly re-inhabited remote island of St Kilda - they soon realise it has extraordinary powers and can transport them anywhere in the world. Before long, Alice and her friends find themselves immersed in all sorts of thrilling adventures, from Central Park to the Amazonian rainforest to the backstreets of Hong Kong, as they uncover danger and subterfuge threatening the world's eco-systems. With a stray dog and a garrulous parrot they seem to have acquired along the way, they overcome their fears as the C-Bean helps them unravel the mysteries of time and tides, understand the interconnectedness of all things, and in the process succeed in safeguarding the future of their tiny Scottish island.

Educational and Enjoyable Book for children 14 February, 2014 On
This book is for children and i must say the author, Sarah, has done a good job of fusing story-telling and education about environmental concerns together. These can be very drab and boring subjects to discuss with children but the story does it in a very interesting manner.

Children on an island receive a CUBE which is a lind of magical new-age electronic high-tech classroom which can transport them to anywhere in the world. They visit the city of new york (and visit its museum) and then visit the jungles of amazon and then even visit Hong Kong and Australia. These visits are adventurous as well as educative in their own way and they also manage to get two interesting pets as part of the adventures.

And by the end of the story, they have also managed to save their island !!

Give this to your child ... and wait for the sequel to come.

And did i mention the interesting cover design which reveals a picture when you warm it with your hands. Kids are sure to love that :)
