Shahid - A film of a modern time
20 October, 2013
Stirred is what I felt after watching this 2 hr thoughtful cinema. Rajkumar Yadav, whose only film I saw was Kai Po Che; delivers a subtle but soul stirring performance of a crusader who has taken up the voice of those falsely accused and left to fend for themselves in the legal tangle that drags on in the courtrooms. He is threatened, humiliated, attacked ; still he walks a lone road against the tide. The poster itself showing Yadav's face blackened is creative and sparks a curiosity for this film. Tigmanshu Dhulia has a short role in which he is effective; the other cast is suitably supporting.
A must see for a soul stirring experience and an introspection.
