One of the best books ever written

Sometimes a fictional tale reads so real that you actually think that is a historical book. Shogun is one of those books. It's facts interspersed with fiction.
The characters in the book are so life like, the places of course are, and if you do research on wiki, you'd realise that this book is extremely close to being based on true facts. It's packed with action, adventure, intrigue, and that speaks of that mystical land Japan.
Also, having stayed in Japan, I could see that the author had indeed a deep knowledge of Japan itself, and its traditions and customs. I love the pace, the hugely descriptive scenes, and the magnificent setting. Read this book to understand the Fedual society in Japan, their treatment of foreigners, how they view the world, and how that great nation was forged like a steel katana is.
James Clavell Take a bow Sir. What a great experience
