I watched No Smoking this Friday and this took me by surprise when I realized that a movie can be so messed up. The movie does not seem to have any story and instead of having good screenplay it does not leave any good impression on the viewer.

Had it been possible I would have question Vishal Bhardwaj what actually he had in his mind when he started off this movie.

Either he thinks that this is for the very intelligent and perspicacious audiences who have extraordinary skill to comprehend very complex and intricate idea that he tried to convey or he thinks that the audience will accept any alienated story without giving it a thought.

Well I take it even if for a moment we think that he is trying to give any social message but in my opinion that message is so much clichéd that the movies seems to be an exaggerated caricature that does not seem to make any sense.

There are some or I say all the scenes which are beyond my comprehension and the movie aggravates my helplessness when it reached the climax where everything is messed up to the extent of making you scream and move out from the theatre though the “Intelligent Human” in you still looks for some clue or in search of something meaningful thinking that no one can create that kind of crap and the script writer must have thought some understandable climax, but all dreams shattered and movie turns out to be a nightmare.

The cinematography is good to the extent of irritation. The dialogues are as banal as messenger chat. The events are loosely coupled and you can’t make out how something has happened and why it has happened. The songs are not bad and could have created good impact and drawn few audience, had there been some essence in the movie.

I would still think that some people think out of this world and there are some things which are beyond my stratum of understanding. So one possibility I can see here is that I might not be as intelligent as Vishal would have thought audience to be.

Still thinking anything about No-Smoking reminds me of horrendous experience.

People, who want to experience how bad something can be on this planet, please watch this movie because even bad experiences part of life.
