My Regular Wear
8 June, 2014
As a person that works around a lot of water, desks, furniture, machines & tools, I needed a watch that could take all the bumps & scratches.
So, I was awestruck by the Camo version of the Swatch - it was a perfect fit for a Wolverine person like myself. It looked tough and macho.
But the one you see here is white - for a different breed of person.
Even though the colors differ, the product is the same. Here's how:
1) Water Resistant :
you can go swimming with it.
2) Silicon Strap is Scratch Proof (if you have white):
My camo model is faded & all black right now, thanks to the billion bumps & scrapes.
3) Curved Screen:
I really like that.
But attracts scratch & quickly looks worn out.
Slightly Difficult to Read during strong sunlight & at night.
Turning on the light, to read time, while riding a motorcycle is a huge risk - you cannot read the time at night.
4) Touch Sensitive Buttons:
Goes haywire under water, cycles between different functions automatically.
Not responsive at many times.
5) Dual Strap Holder:
A good thing, but quickly tears.
6) Replaceable Strap at INR 2,000:
A good thing, but you might want to change the face of the watch as well, when it gets old. - I am not too sure if the Swatch service guys change that, as well.
7) Old Fashioned at 2014:
With the rise of smart watches from Samsung, Sony & the likes, that boasts color touch screen & very many features, our little Swatch seems outdated. But then again, not many of those watches come at the price range of the Swatch.
Looks old after a few scratches.
8) Long Lasting Battery:
A thumbs up in my book.
9) Still gets People's Attention
10) Swiss Made - is quite a reputation
Overall, I still like my old camo Swatch. Its been through a lot. It has a lot of stories to tell. Would I buy it again? DEFINITELY (Oh & The Camo version goes on & off shelves like stink. However, I haven't seen ver many people owning one - & that is a good thing, if you like exclusivity)
