Tales of Hanuman:3 in 1 is a box set containing 3 books - Hanuman, Hanuman to the Rescue and Bheema and Hanuman. Anant Pai or Uncle Pai, as he is commonly known, is the author of these books. This is one of the most popular comic book series in India and deals with themes from Indian history, mythology and folklore. The book set is ideal for kids in the age group of 9 to 14 years. This set has been compiled and published by Amar Chitra Katha, in 1994. Anant Pai, also known as the Walt Disney of India, was an educationalist and the avant-garde of Indian comics. Another popular compilation by him is Tinkle.

The first book in the set, depicts Hanuman's significant role and how he helps Lord Rama in winning the war against Ravana and also rescuing Sita from the clutches of Ravana. The book celebrates various virtues of Hanuman - his humility, strength and courage and his devotion towards Lord Rama. The plot of the second book revolves around Lakshman's injury and Hanuman's role in saving him. Lakhsman, Rama's brother is badly injured in the war and only Sanjeevani can give him life. However, it is found in a forest on top of a mountain situated far away. So, Hanuman goes in search of the life saving herb, but fails to recognise the actual plant. He then carries back the whole mountain. The third book shows how powerful Hanuman is. Bheema, the second Pandava is known for exceptional strength. He goes in search of a particular flower, as requested by Draupadi. Although, he defeats an elephant in the forest, he fails to lift the tail of great Hanuman.
