Product Description

Two years after the release of the Hollywood blockbuster movie Thor in 2011, Walt Disney Home Entertainment and Marvel Studios coalesced together to release the much-awaited sequel, Thor: The Dark World in 2013. Thor: The Dark World is probably one of the best sequels to any superhero movie till date. This film delivers in terms of storytelling and cinematography. Filled with jaw-dropping action sequences and fantastic visual effects, this movie dominated the box office upon its release. The core cast of the first film has been retained in the sequel, with Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, and Stellan Skarsgard reprising their characters. Alan Taylor has directed this film while Kevin Feige has produced it. The script for the movie has written by Christopher Yost, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely. The mind-blowing special effects were provided by seven reputed visual effects studios, including Double Negative and Luma Pictures, among others. Walt Disney Studios released the DVD on 27th February 2014.

The movie picks up where its prequel ended. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) fights and struggles to restore order when Earth and all the nine realms are threatened by a shadowy enemy (Dark Elf) who is older than the universe itself. Thor and his brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) must put aside their differences to defeat an enemy that even Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and Asgard cannot withstand. Packed with amazing special effects and thrilling fight sequences, this movie is complete entertainer

  1.  Definitely not one of Marvel's best 17 November, 2013 On
No spoiler, read on: I never thought I could like a superhero with a hammer, unless I saw Thor part 1. Well, after I had a look at Chris Hemsworth and his 6-pack abs, I was pretty sure I would have liked him even without the hammer.

But even the droolworthy looks of the hammer man could not help me from leaning over to my mortal husband and dozing off in the middle of Thor 2. So, forgive me if this review skips the 30 to 40 minute of computer generated action sequence that I missed, but woke up with the feeling that I did not miss much. That’s what movies like Thor 2 do to you- they do not make you feel guilty if you reach late for the movie, go out in between to take a call or answer nature’s call, or doze off in the middle. Thank you, Thor.

Well, coming back to the movie- unless you are the kind of fan who has posters of Thor on your wall or your wallpaper, chances are, you will not miss the movie.
