His family moved to Mississippi in 1967, where Grisham eventually received a law degree from Ole Miss and established a practice in Southaven for criminal and civil law. In 1983, Grisham was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives, where he served until 1990. While working as an attorney, Grisham witnessed emotional testimony from the case of a young girl's rape. Naturally inquisitive, Grisham's mind started to wander: what if the terrible crime yielded an equally terrible revenge? 1.  It's a John Grisham! 27 December, 2013 On Junglee.com
John Grisham is my favorite writer of all time, this book is a strong and raw, with a solid story totally recommended. But certainly is not one of his best books, not end of catch and felt it could have been removed easily fill 100 pages to make it a little more "light", so to speak.

     A story of justice.. 23 September, 2013 On Junglee.com
'A TIME TO KILL' is john grisham's first book and it was totally worth buying he has presented a complete book with formidable talent. A book that compels you excites you and which while reading chapter by chapter tells you to keep going until it gets over.
He has written about the feeling which comes like an instinct to every other parent who has suffered from such catastrophe but yet acquires guts to make it happen.
He has communicated with the readers by his characters and has expressed their state of mind, their actions exceptionally well and even though the story is fiction the emotions are as real as you and me.
The best part of this book was its end, he has shown even though racism exists in society but when it comes to being a human or a parent their thoughts become unanimous and thus the ending touches the soft corner of everyone's heart and even makes some people like me cry.

John grisham writes the best court room novel ever created on earth. He delivers a thriller you can trust, so I would recommend this book to everyone because as a book lover I can tell this book deserves to be read by everyone.
