    Stopped Working After 2 Months
My first Aroma rice cooker lasted for over ten years and the only reason why I replaced it was because the non-stick pan was flaking and I couldn't buy a replacement. As of tonight, this Aroma rice cooker just decided to stop working -- wouldn't get hotter than "warm." Bummer, and it's going to cost me shipping to return to Amazon. I won't be buying another Aroma rice cooker.

Browns White Rice...or Something Like That
I like this rice cooker, but I'm giving it a 1 because it browns white rice from the center of the pot and outward. I assume the pot has a bad thermostat. The rice was still edible and would've been fine for me...a single guy, but I have to consider guests. Amazingly increasing the water by 25% didn't prevent browning.

The other negatives are that the lid is not removable, and the delay timer can only be set in one hour increments (1 hour, 2 hour, 8 hour, etc). Because the lid is not removable it will never be as clean as I'd like. Also I know a little about programming. It seems like it would've been easy to program the timer to accept minute increments.

I'm returning it and asking for a replacement.

UPDATE: My new rice cooker arrived. I've used it about 15 times. I'm having the same problem. However I don't think the rice is browning but instead it's a film that collects on the bottom that browns. I assume the film is starch. This happens even after I rinse the uncooked rice for 5 minutes plus. This has happened with two different brands and types of rice, both jasmine and white. I've even tried spraying the pot with a non-stick cooking spray.

Also now I find myself forgetting to clean the lid. I'd like to return this rice cooker, but I won't.
