Casio's SGW400H-1B Sport Multifunction Watch Fulfills Expectations 30 December, 2012
I have two general problems with most multifunctional watches: they are either too complicated to use or the other functions overwhelm the basic purpose which is telling time. This watch does not have any of those problems. It's light, easy to use, does everything advertised, and isn't ugly.

Quality altimiter watch 25 December, 2012
Everything works well, easy to operate and set. I love the quick change to different time zones especially to UTC. When flying as a pilot it's really helpful keeping up with the zulu time by pushing one button when crossing so many zones. Nice to know a sort of backup altimeter is there on my wrist. Never lost an altimeter anyway though. Nice for hiking up or down a mountain but you need the set the baro and altimeter before leaving/starting. I would give it five stars but the back-light is pretty bad, can't see the hands at all with the light on and the illumination is so small that it is very difficult to see also. Pitiful after dark.

OK but not great 17 December, 2012
My expectation for this watch is higher then it delivers. First, the digital panels are often blocked by hour and minute hands. Second, in time keeping mode, the top panel only shows dropping lines. It could have just showed the reading of barometer. Third, once you go into barometer mode, you can not go back to time keeping mode with one push. You have to go through multiple modes. Last, They could have made the watch bigger for better digital display.

    Not 52 mm 10 October, 2012
watch is nice but they state that the watch is 52mm and it is not, plus the strap is short and pretty thin so if your a big guy like me it will not fit your wrist!!!!!!!!!!!but casio is still a great product!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK for the price 6 April, 2012
For $45 or so, this is an OK watch. The barometer works well, which is what I wanted, however the altimeter is a joke. I live at sea level and it continually tries to tell me otherwise. The alarm is also poorly thought out. It only goes off for 10 seconds so if that doesn't get you up, you'll need to set one of the other alarms to follow it up. Not a terrible design but not the best either. Also, the analog hands are always in the way of reading the digital displays. All in all a bit of a hot mess. But again, for $45 you can't be too picky, right?

good feature for the price...but 25 April, 2012
For what I paid for, it's a great watch. Cool features, with built in altimeter, barometer and thermometer, which is all that I wanted in a watch when I want to go hiking. It also combines both analog and digital display so it doesn't look totally electronic. The altimeter keep changing on the daily bases, which I can understand that it can only read air pressure. My main complain I have is that the thermometer is easily affected by your body heat, which always read 90.f when I wear it on my skin. Of course that's different if you are wearing it on your jacket, you'll get an objective temperature reading.

Good, but bulky 16 April, 2013
I like having a big watch. This one fits that description, but not everything is absolutely accurate. Hand movement on the analog is magnetic, not mechanical. Temperature feature is often inaccurate because you have it strapped to your body. It has a feature that shows you times all around the world... but since I never leave the United States, it's useless.

    Casio Men's SGW400H-1B Sport Multi-Function Grey Dial Watch 5 March, 2013
Initially I wanted a multifunction watch that didn't cost an arm and leg and I researched many products before settling on the Casio SGW400H-1B, it looked like just the ticket for less than $70. It's a handsome watch and fairly easy to read because of decent contrast in normal lighting conditions and it is not as bulky on my wrist as a more sofisticated and expensive multifunction watch would be.

The main reason for my 3-star rating stems from the hour hand being significantly misaligned, especially noticable at the 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock positions. I accept the fact that an inexpensive watch can't be expected to provide accurate barometric pressure or altimeter readings and I know accurate temp readings must be off the wrist for a few minutes. But the lack of quality control is immediately obvious because of the misaligned analog hands and the alignment is not resolved by following the instruction manual.

Such is the nature of mass-produced consumer level products made in third world countries. I got what I paid for. I still plan to buy a higher quality Casio multifunction watch (near $200) that doesn't have analog hands that won't detract from it's beauty and functionality. Until then I'll live with my choice.

    Good tool. 11 January, 2013
Initially I didn't like this watch. Biggest prob was couldn't see the digital display in the dark and the analog lum was too dim. decided to keep since it didn't cost very much. After changing to a nylon strap with velcro closure, have really come to love it. I like the fact that I can time workouts while veiwing the time.
Hey. Its a casio. You simply cant kill them. Wish it was solar, wish it was atomic. But for the money I am pleased with my purchase.
